Baptized in 1973 at Antioch Baptist Church, where his father was a leader, John became deeply involved in church activities from a young age. He served as pianist at 11, Minister of Music at 14, and was licensed as a minister in 1981 and ordained in 1986. He graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts in 1983 and pursued further education in Business Administration and Biblical Studies through Liberty University, graduating in 1995.
His ministry work includes traveling with Go Tell It Ministries, serving as Minister of Music at Greater Friendship Baptist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church, and being District Minister of Music for the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship of Western New York.
John has held pastoral roles at Unity Baptist Church (Interim Pastor in 1986), Monument of Faith Baptist Church (Pastor from 1988), and United Church of Faith (Pastor from 1997). In 2001, he founded Fellowship Christian Center (FellowshipWorld), a multicultural ministry that grew significantly, acquiring and renovating a 19,000 square foot facility and later moving worship services to its present location.

He is the recipient of a Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree and was Ordained a Bishop by Kingdom Dominion Covenant Fellowship.

Pastor - GYC Ministries
GYC Ministries supports Buffalo residents by providing groceries to the elderly and low-income families, organizing youth travel for diverse recreational experiences, and aiding first responders in addressing gun and gang violence. Additionally, the ministry offers help with end-of-life preparations, assists crime victims, and deploys teams to respond to homicides.
